Certina DS-3 VS Seiko Samurai
This is not a review just my observations of those watches.
The Certina DS-3 is only made in 1888 pieces and they
call it a limited edition. Itīs rated to 1000 meters and
have a screwdown crown and a helium escape valve.
This one have hour and minute hands from Eddie Platts
and a black datewheel from Bill Yao.
The Seiko Samurai SNM009K1 is rated to 200 meters and have a screwdown crown.
Itīs only made for the Japanese market but will find a home all over the world.
If we start to look closer at the watches so did it looks like
they are in nearly the same size.
The measurement of the watches is:
Certina
Dial 30 mm
Outside diameter of the bezel 41 mm
Thickness 15,5 mm
Lugs width 21 mm
Weight include all links 240 grams
Seiko

Lugs width 22 mm
Weight include all links 195 grams

The Certina screwdown crown
The Seiko bracelet have polished middlelinks and
both feels very solid.
Both bracelet have pushpins to resize it
The Seiko clasp is pressed metal and the Certina clasp
is solid metal. Both is made in stainless steel and the
rest of the watches is made in stainless steel too.
Both clasp have security lock and a diver extension link inside
The Certina have a helium escape valve at the side.
Here is a view from the inside
And a little closer
The backside of the Certina, lets open it up and take a look
Here we will found a regular ETA 2824-2 with a engraved rotor.
The backside of the Seiko, lets open it up and take a look
It have a inhouse movement cal 7S35A and a nice looking rotor
Both watches glows nice and clear in the dark.
It was not ment to be a test against each other, just my reflections
of the watches. The Certina watch costs more than twice as the
Seiko watch. In my opinion they play in the same league when
it comes to quality and durability
Thanks for your time, I hope you enjoy it
